This is the State of Iowa's wonderful DI Instant Challenge Library site that offers performance, task, and theme based instant challenges.  Also, feel free to share one with them.  They'd appreciate it!  Just click on the heading to go to the site to find a great set of ICs to try.
This site has three volumes of great ICs with more to come.  Developed and maintained by a DI alumnus, the documents offer not only ICs to use, but advice on practicing.  Click on the heading to find out more.

Improv Encyclopedia is the largest collection of improvisation theater on the web.  If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist!  Just click on the heading to start your improving your improv!
Public Television's award winning Zoom series has kids try all sorts of experiments and challenges to learn about science, engineering, and the world around them.  Lots of fun activities ranging from very simple to somewhat complex.  Click on the heading to "zoom" to their website.
Create Your Own Stage Effects, by Gill Davies
This softcover, 160 page book is a great reference for making costumes, makeup, and special effects to name a few things.  Easy to understand and lots of useful tips and ideas.
Youth Pizza Jams are open for ages 9-12 and 13-17.  These workshops include pizza and soda.  Kids participate in a variety of theatre and improvisation games in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment.  The cost is $40 per "Jam".  The Brave New Workshop is located in Minneapolis on Hennepin Avenue.  For more information, call 612.332.6620 ext 202 or click on the heading to view their website.
Of course, we are lucky that right here in Hudson we have the Phipps Center to draw upon.  Classes run year round on a wide variety of things from acting to puppet making.  For more information, call 715.386.2305 or click on the heading to view their website.
A wonderful resource for everyone.  Whether you just visit the museum to get ideas or take one of their many classes, the Science Museum of Minnesota has much to offer.  To learn more, visit their website by clicking on the heading.
Trinity Valley North Central Texas has a great page of instant challenges for you to download.  Just click on the heading to find some great ICs.
On DI's official website, they not only give a simple overview of what an instant challenge is, but they give six ICs to download.  Click on the heading to check it out.
The official DI website has many book references for sale including theater games, past main challenges, teambuilding, set design, and instant challenges to name a few.

On Stage:  Theater Games and Activities for Kids, by Lisa Bany-Winters
This softcover, has over 160 pages of different theater games and activities for kids. Includes games on creating characters, comedy, improv, drama, and many others.  Easy to understand and modify.
An amazing place to visit right in Minneapolis is Chris Lutter's workshop where he and his friends build amazing  (and typically quite large) puppets.  To learn more, call Chris at 612.695.6871 or click on the heading to view their website.
Don't wait for a rainy day to try one or two of these great projects (and some you can eat!).  Construct a moon habitat or a balloon powered Mars Land Rover.  Just click on the heading to send you to this fun site.
Want to see some great ideas for recycling.  Turn old magazines into a table or turn gum wrappers into a handbag.  You'll be amazed.  Click on the heading to see how items can be used again and again and again....
If you've never used PVC, then you best visit this site.  PVC is cheap, easy to find, and can be made into a whole bunch of stuff.  Just click on the heading to see all the things PVC can be used for and start creating.
You cannot possibly "do DI" without duct tape.  So click on the heading to get ideas on making bow ties, picture frames, and all sorts of other "ductivities".
The Disney Family Fun website offers lots of ideas and videos including many for cardboard. Click on the heading to get ideas on how to turn cardboard boxes and tubes into confetti launchers, furniture, and costumes just to name a few.
